Day to day itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi – Gateway to India’s Glorious Past & Present

Welcome to Delhi, the dynamic capital city where history and modernity collide in a vivid spectacle of sights, sounds, and sensations. Upon your arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our local representative and transferred comfortably to your hotel.

Prepare to be enchanted by the dual personalities of Delhi – the centuries-old charm of Old Delhi and the colonial elegance of New Delhi. In Old Delhi, once the Mughal capital between the 17th and 19th centuries, labyrinthine lanes echo with the call to prayer and the hustle of ancient bazaars. Explore its rich heritage of majestic mosques, crumbling forts, and vibrant street markets steeped in a truly medieval ambience.

New Delhi, in contrast, is a masterpiece of colonial architecture and broad boulevards. Designed by the British, this imperial city showcases grand government buildings, tree-lined avenues, and monumental structures that reflect layers of Mughal, Persian, and British history.

In the evening, gather with your fellow travellers for a welcome briefing session hosted by your tour manager, where you’ll receive insights about the days ahead and have the chance to ask questions over a relaxed setting.

Day 2: Discover the Sights of Old & New Delhi

After breakfast, set out on a full-day tour to explore the rich contrasts of Old and New Delhi. Begin with a visit to the magnificent Red Fort (closed on Mondays), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of India’s most iconic landmarks. Continue to Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, followed by a walk through the bustling Chandni Chowk bazaar, where rickshaws weave through colourful stalls.

Pay your respects at Raj Ghat, the serene memorial of Mahatma Gandhi, before continuing to New Delhi. Admire the grandeur of India Gate, the Presidential Palace, and Parliament buildings. Step into history at Humayun’s Tomb, a precursor to the Taj Mahal, and round off your tour with the towering Qutub Minar, the tallest brick minaret in the world.

Day 3: Travel from Delhi to the Royal City of Jaipur (235km – approx. 5.5 hrs)

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departing for Jaipur, the flamboyant capital of Rajasthan, affectionately known as the Pink City. Famous for its regal history, colourful bazaars, and majestic architecture, Jaipur offers a truly royal experience. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and spend the remainder of the day at your leisure, perhaps exploring the vibrant markets or enjoying a traditional Rajasthani dinner.

Day 4: Explore Jaipur’s Royal Heritage

Start the day with breakfast, followed by a guided visit to the legendary Amber Fort, a majestic hilltop fortress overlooking Maota Lake. Be mesmerised by the intricate mirrorwork of the Sheesh Mahal, the splendid halls, and ornate gates like the Ganesh Pol. Return to the city to explore the opulent City Palace, including the Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, and the colourful Peacock Gate.

Visit the fascinating Jantar Mantar observatory, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with colossal instruments used to measure celestial phenomena. End your city tour with a photo stop at the iconic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), before browsing the vibrant bazaars: Johari Bazaar for jewellery and saris, Bapu Bazaar for textiles and perfumes, and Chandpol for pottery and bangles.

Day 6: The Majestic Taj Mahal & Return to Delhi (200km – approx. 3 hrs)

Begin the day with breakfast and head out to visit the world-famous Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays), a masterpiece of Mughal architecture and an enduring symbol of love. Commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal, this dazzling white marble mausoleum took 20,000 artisans from across Persia, Turkey, France, and Italy to complete. It stands today as a glowing tribute to love’s eternal bond.

Continue your sightseeing with a visit to the historic Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important forts in India. Walk through its red sandstone ramparts to discover the impressive Diwan-i-Am (Hall of Public Audience), the elegant Diwan-i-Khas (Hall of Private Audience), and the delicate Mina Masjid (Heavenly Mosque), a serene space once reserved for royal prayer.

After the tour, drive back to Delhi. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Indira Gandhi International Airport for your onward journey or flight home, bringing your unforgettable Golden Triangle tour of India to a close.
