In the morning, you will be transferred from your hotel in Cusco to the Ollantaytambo train station, where your journey to Machu Picchu begins. Enjoy a scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes, also known as “Machu Picchu Pueblo,” which takes approximately two hours. This charming town is the last stop before entering Peru’s most iconic archaeological site.
In Aguas Calientes, you will find the railway station, a vibrant crafts market, local restaurants, and accommodations for those wishing to spend the night at the foot of the mountain. After a short bus transfer from Aguas Calientes, you will arrive at Machu Picchu, an awe-inspiring masterpiece of Inca engineering and architecture. Believed to have served as a sanctuary and retreat for the Inca Pachacutec (1438–1572), Machu Picchu is one of the most significant archaeological sites in the world.
Translated as “Old Mountain,” Machu Picchu is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Once inside the citadel, you may optionally visit landmarks such as the Intipunku (Sun Gate), Wayna Picchu (subject to availability), and the Inca Bridge, each offering unique perspectives on this iconic site.
In the afternoon, return by train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, followed by a bus transfer back to your hotel in Cusco.

Return Flight: On return flight can be either from Cusco or Lima. If the flight returns from Lima, on day 12 you will fly to Lima from Cusco. Next day board the flight back home.

Flights : Your round-trip flight is included in your holiday package. The flight will have 1 stopover and 1-6 hours layover (however, in some tours, there are likely to be touchdowns or 2 stopovers with slightly longer layovers. Airport : Your holiday package includes the return flight from the airport outlined in the itinerary. However, you can fly from a choice of various local airports at extra costs. The easily overlooked details can have a major effect on your holiday. One of the ways we aim to plan your holiday as carefree as possible is to offer flights from local airports. With a more extensive selection of departures, set off on your holiday at a time that suits you best. Find out where you can fly from during stage 4 of the online booking process.
Group : In Peru you will travel in a group of minimum 02 and maximum 20 people. If no one other than you booked into this date/tour, the tour will still go ahead but you will not be part of the group.
Visa : British / USA / Canadian Citizen do not require visa to Peru if travelling for holiday purpose. Other nationalities may require visa in order to visit Peru. For the most up-to-date information regarding travel visas – including prices and the required length of time that the document is needed for – we advise that you visit www.gov.uk . Alternatively, you can contact the local embassy of the country you are planning to visit.
Passport : Please note that your passport MUST be valid for a minimum of 6 months after the validation date of your visa.
Visa Documents : Lumle Holidays will send you all the required documentation you need to apply for your visa (including flight information) between 4 and 6 weeks prior to your selected date of departure so you can apply for your Peru visa in time if you need one. At least 3 weeks before your departure date you will receive your flight tickets and the confirmed list of your hotels in Peru.
Travel Documents : Please ensure you take all your final travel documents with you to Peru
Personal Information : Please ensure that your personal details is filled in identically to the data on your passport. If this information does not match, you cannot travel to and from your destination. Amendment to this information if entered incorrectly will result in additional charges.
