Upon landing in Kathmandu, you’ll be greeted by your local guide who will escort you to your hotel. After checking in, take some time to relax and unwind from your flight, or explore the vibrant streets of Kathmandu at your leisure.

Today, you’ll embark on a guided tour of Kathmandu, immersing yourself in the city’s rich history and spiritual landmarks. Visit iconic temples like Swayambhunath (the Monkey Temple) and Pashupatinath, along with Durbar Square, where you can explore palaces, courtyards, and ancient architecture.

After breakfast, fly from Kathmandu to Tibet. Upon arrival, your guide will meet you for the scenic drive to Tsetang. As you journey through the breathtaking mountain valleys, you’ll get your first glimpse of Tibet’s stunning landscapes. Upon arrival in Tsetang, check in to your hotel and relax for the evening.

Today, you’ll visit Samye Monastery, the first monastery ever built in Tibet, which remains a spiritual hub for Tibetan Buddhism. Afterwards, travel to Yumbulagang Palace, an ancient fortress perched on a hilltop, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and plains.

Set out on a journey along the picturesque Southern Friendship Highway towards Gyantse. The drive takes you through high mountain passes, including a 5,000-meter peak that offers awe-inspiring views of shimmering lakes and rugged terrain. Upon arrival in Gyantse, visit the historic Gyantse Monastery and explore the charming traditional lanes of the old town.

Today, continue westward along the Friendship Highway towards Tingri, a remote village nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas. As you travel, marvel at the towering peaks of the Himalayas to your left. Tingri will serve as your base for your Everest visit.

This morning, set out on a breathtaking journey toward Everest Base Camp. Travel along a mix of paved and gravel roads with the mighty Himalayas in full view. Upon reaching Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery in the world, you can hike to a viewing point that offers a spectacular close-up of Mount Everest in all its glory.

Today, you’ll journey to Shigatse, Tibet’s second-largest city. Upon arrival, visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama, where you can explore the beautiful halls, courtyards, and giant statues that fill this spiritual site.

Embark on a scenic drive to Lhasa via the Northern Friendship Highway, following the majestic Brahmaputra River for much of the journey. Along the way, you’ll see stretches of the China-Lhasa-Shigatse railway, a remarkable engineering marvel. Upon reaching Lhasa, settle into your hotel and rest.

This morning, visit the sacred Jokhang Temple, a key pilgrimage site for Tibetans. Continue your exploration with visits to the Drepung and Nechung monasteries. In the afternoon, tour Norbulingka, the former summer palace of the Dalai Lama, and stroll through its beautiful gardens.

Begin your day with a visit to the iconic Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former residence of the Dalai Lama. Afterward, head to Ganden Monastery, set dramatically on a mountainside. Here, you can follow pilgrims along the Kora, a traditional circumambulatory path that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

Fly back to Kathmandu today for a final evening in Nepal’s capital city. Upon arrival, you can either relax or take one last stroll through the city’s bustling markets.

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your international flight(s) home, bringing with you the unforgettable memories of your Tibetan and Nepalese adventure. You’ll arrive back home on the same day.
