Experience the excitement of visiting the Batu Caves, the mightiest Hindu Temple and Shrine, which can attract thousands of worshippers and tourists, especially during the annual Hindu festival, Thaipusam. You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and drive you up to the first stop, Batu Caves. A limestone outcrop located just north of Kuala Lumpur, Batu Caves has three main caves featuring temples and Hindu shrines. Its main attraction is the colossal statue of the Hindu God at the entrance, besides a steep 272 climb up its steps to finally view the stunning skyline of the city center. Monkeys frolic around the caves, and it is a popular spot for rock climbing enthusiasts. Paintings and scenes of Hindu Gods can also be seen in the Ramayana Cave.
After your cave exploration, continue your cultural journey with a visit to a Batik factory. Witness the traditional art of Batik-making come to life as skilled artisans meticulously handcraft vibrant designs on fabric. Learn about the intricate wax-resist dyeing process and marvel at the creativity displayed in every piece. Feel free to explore the factory, ask questions, and even try your hand at creating your own Batik masterpiece.
Next, you will visit The Pewter Factory: The discovery of tin in Malaya had lured him and thousands of other Chinese to the fledgling tin-mining town, where he joined his brothers who had established themselves as tinsmiths. Yong Koon enjoyed brisk business making simple household items of tin, operating from his shop at No. 23 Cross Street. He later made pewter incense burners, joss stick holders, and candles stand for the altars of Chinese temples. Employing a few other craftsmen, he was among the first pewter smiths in Kuala Lumpur. And then, at the end of the tour, we will transfer you back to the hotel.
