Today you will board an overnight flight from NEW YORK.

Day 2 : LIMA

Arrive at Lima Airport. A transportation service and a guide will pick you up from the airport at the scheduled time to transfer you to your hotel in Lima. The Peruvian capital is a modern metropolis full of history, currently undergoing an exciting process of cultural and economic changes.

Day 3 : LIMA

Half-day shared tour to Lima city - [Shared].

You will be picked up from their hotel to visit the Historical Center of Lima. Their route will start at Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion, given in 1535 by Francisco Pizarro to one of their captains, Jerónimo de Aliaga. This is the only house of the time, that belongs to the same family to the present day. Then, they will visit the Main Square, declared a Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, comprised of imposing historical buildings, that are still part of political and cultural life. They will come up close to the Cathedral of Lima, built in the XVI century. Finally, finish at the Larco Museum, located in the traditional district of Pueblo Libre, and lodged in a beautifully restored vice-royal mansion, which was built over a Pre-Columbian pyramid from the VII century. The museum lodges a full collection of pre-Hispanic objects of gold and silver, as well as pieces of erotic art.

Day 4 : LIMA

Half-day tour to Palomino Islands - [Shared].

A vehicle will pick you up from the hotel and will transfer you to the Callao constitutional province. You will set sail to the Palomino Islands, located in front of the Lima coast, from the La Punta. On your way, you will stop at San Lorenzo Island, which is eight kilometers long and has played an important role in the history of Lima. From the yacht you will be able to appreciate El Frontón (former prison), which emerges as a huge rock from the sea, there you can appreciate the remains of the prison of the same name, besides listening to some of its countless stories and anecdotes; As well as Cavinzas Island, a group of islands and rocky islets with caves and natural caverns is the most important guano center in the area, is a paradise for seabirds such as pelicans, boobies, Guanay, Chuitas, Humboldt penguins and seagulls of various varieties, etc. It has natural caverns, produced by the erosion of the sea. You will visit the Palomino Islands, two islands that are part of a special ecosystem, where an extraordinary fauna - composed of sea lions, and local and migratory birds - coexists. The lack of predators makes it possible to dive with the lions and penguins at a short distance and in complete harmony. You will finally return among islets inhabited by guano birds and Peru's second-largest colony of Humboldt penguins.

Day 5 : LIMA - PARACAS

Breakfast at the hotel. A transportation service takes you from the selected hotel to the bus station. A representative assists you during the journey. Then you are transferred from Lima to Paracas by bus. When finished, you are driven to the hotel in Paracas, where you have the rest of the day off.

A transportation service will take you from your hotel to the Paracas National Reserve; a large area containing beautiful rock formations shaped during thousands of years of wind and water erosion, as well as a variety of fauna and the remains of a pre-Inca culture that ruled the desert and created a successful society in an adverse scenery.

Day 6 : PARACAS – ICA – NASCA

Pick up at the chosen Hotel (around the City) we will visit the Main Square of the City and walk the main streets of Ancient and Modern Ica. Then, we will visit the Regional Museum of Ica where we will appreciate the evolution of the five most representative cultures of the region such as Paracas, Nazca, Wari, Ica Chincha, and Inca. We will visit an artisan winery where we will have a wide explanation of the elaboration of wine and Pisco with its respective tasting. Finally, we will visit the Huacachina Lagoon also called "THE OASIS OF AMERICA" where we will appreciate the wonderful desert landscape surrounded by impressive dunes. At the end, we return to the hotel.

Day 7 : NASCA - AREQUIPA

Overflight Nasca Lines (shared)

AM. Breakfast at the hotel. You are transferred to the airfield where you go on a 30-minute plane flight over the desert and the mysterious Nasca Lines, which can only be appreciated from the air. Nasca is a small town that might go unnoticed on a map if it weren't for the mysterious lines engraved on the desert that have given it worldwide fame. Although they are centuries old, how and why they were made still constitute an enigma. Large shapes of a monkey, a spider, and a condor, can be seen from the sky. If weather conditions permit, the recent findings in Palpa are overflown. After flying over the desert the tour ends, and upon landing, you are transferred to the bus station, from where you depart by regular bus for a 10-hour journey to the Arequipa city. Upon arrival, you are transferred to the hotel.

Day 8 : AREQUIPA

Half-day city tour of Arequipa - [Shared].

AM. The traveler will be picked up from their hotel to be transferred to the Carmen Alto viewpoint, where they will enjoy the countryside of Arequipa with a view of the Chili River, and the Misti and Chachani volcanoes, in the background. They will be transported to the Yanahuara viewpoint, an olden construction of the XIX century, where they will obtain a view of the cityside, always with the imposing Misti watching over. They will then visit the Basilica of the Company of Jesus, an impressive architectonic piece of neo-renaissance style, built with white stone, known as ashlar. The tour will continue in Main Square, the main space of urban encounters. Finally, they will know to get to know the famous Convent of Santa Catalina, a prestigious institution of the XVI century, comprised of plazas, cloisters, and streets, that used to be inhabited by the daughters of prestigious families, who were kept by the convent’s nuns. *Church dress code: During the visit sleeveless and/or low-cut garments, shorts above the knee, and miniskirts are not permitted, otherwise their entrance will be denied.

Day 9 : AREQUIPA – COLCA

2 days / 1-night package to the Colca Valley and Canyon, ending in Puno. - [Shared].

Leave Arequipa towards the Colca Valley, crossing part of the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, ascending through Pampa Cañahuas, and the pampas of Toccra, observing Vicuñas, Alpacas and migratory birds; then arrive at Patapampa or Mirador de los Andes (4,910 m. We will then descend to the town of Chivay (3635 m.a.s.l.) arriving between 12h30 pm - and 13h00 pm. After a one-hour buffet lunch in Chivay, you will be transferred to your hotel to enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure*. Day 10 : COLCA - PUNO

Get ready for a day to remember, with a trip to the impressive Cruz del Condor viewpoint. We leave by the left margin of the valley visiting the town square of Yanque, and heading to the Cruz del Condor (41 km. from Chivay). In this place, you can see one of the most spectacular views of the Canyon and will have the opportunity to appreciate the masterful flight of the Andean Condor. We will return to visit the town of Maca and viewpoints of the valley as Antahuilque, and Wayrapunko. On the way back to Chivay, you will have a buffet lunch in a local restaurant and then depart to Puno on a trip of approximately 05h30m. On the way we will make a stop in Lagunillas for bird watching as flamingos, and in the afternoon you will be arriving in the city of Puno between 17h30 and 18h00 and then be transferred to your hotel.

Day 11 : PUNO

Full-day shared tour to the floating islands of Uros and Taquile - [Shared].

Transfer to the lacustrine port of Puno, where a boat takes you to the floating island of the Uros. The Uros are an ancestral society that populates a series of artificial islands built with the totora plant, a type of reed that grows in Titikaka Lake. There they build their houses, also from totora. After a journey of an hour and a half, continue your trip to the island of Taquile. Once there, receive a briefing about the island. Have a tasty lunch and start your return to Puno.

Day 12 : PUNO - CUSCO

Full-day shared tour from Puno to Cusco - [Shared].

Get ready for a trip to the heart of the Inca Empire. Recharge yourself before boarding the tourist bus that will take you to Cusco. Travel through the amazing landscapes of the Andes, with villages and native animals all around. Take a break at the archaeological site of Pucará, which dates back to 200 BC to 300 AD; followed by a brief stop in La Raya, the highest point between Puno and Cusco, over 4,313 meters above sea level. After the visit, enjoy a lunch in Marangani. You will also visit Racchi, where the Wiracocha temple is located: a surprising 30-meter wide and 20-meter high building. Then, visit the town of Andahuaylillas to see its main attraction: its church nicknamed the Sistine Chapel of America; for the impressive works of art found inside. Finally, you will arrive at your hotel in the city of Cusco.

Day 13 : PUNO - CUSCO

Half-day shared tour to the city of Cusco with a visit to Coricancha, Cathedral, Sacsayhuaman, Quenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay - [Shared].

Enjoy a guided tour of this charming city, which was the capital of the Inca Empire. The tour begins with a visit to the Convent of Santo Domingo, which was built over the Inca temple of Coricancha, one of the most important precincts dedicated to the cult of the sun. Ancient chronicles say that its walls were covered with gold leaf and filled with golden representations of nature. Next, visit the Cathedral, the most imposing monument in the Plaza de Armas. Then head to the hills of Cusco where the fortress of Sacsayhuaman is located, whose imposing walls offer an impressive panoramic view of Cusco. Continue to Qenqo, an archaeological complex of religious use where it is believed that the Incas practiced rituals related to agriculture. Continue the tour to Puka Pukara, the "red fort" in Quechua; an architectural complex of supposed military use, with multiple environments, plazas, baths, aqueducts, and towers. It is believed to have been used by the Inca entourage while the leader rested in Tambomachay, which is the last archaeological stop on the tour. It is believed that it was an enclosure of water worship, which had an extraordinary hydraulic system. At the end of the tour, return to your hotel.

Day 14 : CUSCO

Shared full-day walk to Vinicunca - [Shared].

Vinicunca or mountain of seven colors, is a natural work of art at 5,200 meters above sea level. The colors of the Vinicunca mountain are due to a set of minerals accumulated over time, dragged by the waters of the mountain range, winds, and humidity. Start this adventure to Vinicunca leaving very early in the morning from Cusco in the direction of Cusipata where you will have breakfast. Continue with the tour and arrive at the starting point of the trek. The trail is surrounded by beautiful landscapes of the Andes and guarded by the majestic Ausangate Mountain, one of the most important mountains of Cusco, considered a sacred entity since Inca times. After a few minutes at the viewpoint of the mountain to take some pictures and rest, you will start the hike back to Phullawasipata and then go by bus to Cusipata where you will enjoy lunch. After lunch, you will return to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 15 : CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY

Full-day tour to Chinchero, Ollantaytambo fortress, and Yucay Living Museum from hotels in Cusco - [Shared].

During the morning, you are picked up from your hotel in Cusco to visit the town of Chinchero, a traditional Cusco urban center located at an elevated point with a beautiful view of the valley. The inhabitants of this area preserve the artisan traditions and the inherited knowledge of the Incas and display them in their clothes and customs. In Chinchero there are also archaeological remains and a beautiful seventeenth-century church, one of the first Catholic buildings in Peru. Then, you are transferred to the Living Museum of Yucay, a center of Andean traditions and interpretations, where demonstrations of the elaboration of textile work, adobe, pottery, and silverware are carried out in the same way in which they used to in antiquity; an original recreation of Inca traditions. Also, residents of the museum include llamas, sheep, and alpacas, and they can be fed! Then, enjoy a delicious lunch in the sacred valley and, on the way to the fortress, witness the Andean essence that is breathed into the place, which still maintains Inca urban planning and has been inhabited since then. Go up the iconic steps of the iconic enclosure, built next to the mountain. At the end of this activity, you are transferred back to your hotel. *On Sundays, also visit the local market.

Day 16 : SACRED VALLEY – MACHU PICCHU TOWN - CUSCO

You will be picked up from your hotel in Urubamba and transferred to the Ollantaytambo train station.

After breakfast at the hotel, your journey to Machu Picchu begins with a train ride of an hour and a half to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo, the last stop before entering the most important archaeological site in Peru. In Aguas Calientes, you will find a craft market, restaurants, and, for those who prefer to spend the night at the foot of the mountain and climb early in the morning, hotels for all budgets. Take a short bus ride up to Machu Picchu, the architectural and engineering masterpiece that once served as a sanctuary and refuge for the Inca ruler Pachacutec. Machu Picchu, which means Old Mountain, is a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site and one of the Seven New Wonders of the World. At the end of the tour, take a bus back to Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon you’ll be taken to Aguas Calientes station, where you will board the train back to Cusco. *Remember to confirm your reservation as soon as possible to proceed with the purchase of tickets in advance due to the limited capacity of the Citadel. Start your journey arriving in Puerto Maldonado, where our staff will welcome you and provide the necessary information for your stay. Navigate by outboard motorized canoe along the Madre de Dios River to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepción for approximately 25 minutes. Enjoy LUNCH with organic ingredients and native flavors. After lunch, take a walk through CONCEPCION TRAILS, our inside-property nature trails, where you will discover and learn about primary and secondary rainforests, their components, uses, transformations by human beings, and their relevance for the world. At dusk navigate by outboard motorized canoe, at the TWILIGHT RIVER excursion. Sailing on the Madre de Dios River, you will learn about its ecosystem, Amazonian creeks, nocturnal animal behavior, and the southern constellations. In the evening enjoy a nice DINNER in the Casa Grandes dining room.

Day 18 : PUERTO MALDONADO

New experiences ahead and after taking a nutritious buffet BREAKFAST, get ready for a long trek through terra firma into the Tambopata National Reserve towards LAKE SANDOVAL. Here you will understand why Madre de Dios is called the biodiversity capital of Peru while learning about the Reserves conservation efforts and the formation of the lake. Navigate by dugout canoe across this mirror-like oxbow lake that is home to the endangered giant river otter (Pteronura brasiliensis), blue and yellow macaw (Ara ararauna), red howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus), black caiman (Melanosuchus niger), and one of the worlds biggest freshwater scaled fish, the paiche (Arapaima gigas). Back to the lodge for LUNCH, and later on the INKATERRA CANOPY WALKWAY ANACONDA WALK awaits for you. Take a 20-minute ride by outboard motorized canoe to the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway Interpretation Center where you will learn about its construction and the conservation projects of ITA-Inkaterra Asociación (NGO). Ascend one of the two 98-foot towers (30 m.) and cross the 7 hanging bridges that connect the treetops at 91 ft. high (28 m.). Enjoy the breathtaking vistas and get the chance to watch white-throated toucans (Ramphastos tucanus), woodpeckers, trogons, squirrel monkeys (Saimiri boliviensis), and the three-toed sloth (Choleopus hoffmani). After descending keep on feeling the incredible primary rainforest energy going along the 200-meter wooden bridge over the swamps (aguajales). You will learn about the fauna and flora of this flooded ecosystem. At night get ready for an adventure at the RAINFOREST BY NIGHT excursion, where you will explore the Amazon rainforest that gives way to nocturnal animals who display intriguing behavior patterns, and enhanced senses as adaptation mechanisms. Listen to nocturnal living nature sounds, and penetrate this hidden world. Return to the lodge and enjoy a nice DINNER.

Day 19 : PUERTO MALDONADO

The sun rises once again and after an early BREAKFAST, you will take our NATIVE FARM excursion where you will be able to learn local techniques of cultivation and taste some of the local products. Then visit the BOTANICAL GARDEN, and discover the immense variety of medicinal plants considered part of the natural pharmacy used by the habitants in the Amazon region. Compare the medicinal uses of local medicine with traditional remedies. Getting back to Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion you will have LUNCH. Take a rest and get ready for the COCHA water excursion. Enjoy a dugout canoe ride on the Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion natural pond (cocha). Try native fishing by applying the catch and release techniques, as you enjoy the scenery observing hoatzins (Opisthocomus hoazin), a diversity of flycatchers, and grey-necked wood rails (Aramides cajanea). Disembark at the remains of Fitzcarrald steamboat; learn about its history and how it inspired Inkaterra to ask Werner Herzog to film the award-winning Fitzcarraldo, Best Director at Cannes, 1982. End up your day with a pleasant DINNER.

Day 20 : PUERTO MALDONADO

On your last day before leaving Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion, there is still much more to experience. The sun rises once again and after an early BREAKFAST, get ready for the CASTAÑA excursion. Take a walk within the hotel grounds to a small hut where our explorer guides will teach you the importance of the Brazil nut Tree in the local economy of Madre de Dios. Learn how the Brazil nut is collected using traditional tools and techniques, and try to open one of them using a machete and a nutcracker, to finally enjoy a fresh Brazil nut. Back to the lodge feed your appetite with a healthy and rich LUNCH. In the afternoon, visit the CACAO plantation at Inkaterra Hacienda Concepcion and take part in the chocolate-making process. Learn how to select fresh cacao fruits, and discover how the seeds are fermented and sundried. After pealing the toasted cacao seeds and grinding them into an aromatic paste, end the excursion with a selection of treats made from our organic chocolate. You will be able to participate in the INLAND COLLPA during the evening, where you will see different species and their night routines by observing through our blinds. End up your day with a pleasant DINNER.

After the BREAKFAST buffet, take a ride back to Puerto Maldonado by an outboard motorized canoe. Finally, you will be transferred to the airport.
