After final preparations, you make your way to the airport for your international flight to some of the world's most spectacular and biodiverse destinations. As the plane lifts off, leave the familiar behind and look forward to days filled with extraordinary landscapes, rare animal encounters, and rich cultural discoveries. Settle into your journey, knowing that breathtaking moments in the heart of nature await you on the horizon. Your adventure into the wild has truly begun.

Day 2 : ARRIVE IN BENGALURU – REST AND PREPARE FOR THE WILDERNESS

Your South Indian adventure begins as you arrive in the bustling city of Bengaluru. After clearing immigration and customs, you are warmly greeted and transferred to your comfortable hotel. Today is a day of rest and acclimatisation after your international journey, offering a chance to relax, refresh, and prepare for the extraordinary wildlife encounters ahead. Take the time to unwind in the hotel’s facilities or explore the surrounding area at leisure, soaking up your first glimpses of vibrant Indian life.

Day 3 : BENGALURU TO NAGARHOLE – JOURNEY TO THE WILD HEART OF SOUTH INDIA

After a relaxed breakfast, we set off by private vehicle on a scenic drive towards Kabini River Lodge, the gateway to the incredible Nagarhole National Park. The journey of approximately four and a half hours moves swiftly from the lively streets of Bengaluru into increasingly lush landscapes, hinting at the wild beauty to come.

Upon arrival at the lodge — nestled beside the serene waters of the Kabini River — we are warmly welcomed and enjoy a leisurely lunch. Later in the afternoon, we embark on our first exciting game drive into Nagarhole’s rich forests. Famed for its population of tigers, leopards, and majestic Asian elephants, the park offers one of India’s finest safari experiences. The birdlife is equally captivating, with vibrant species such as the Malabar parakeet, white-cheeked barbet, and grey junglefowl colouring the forest with life and sound.

As dusk settles over the forest canopy and the calls of the wild fill the air, your first thrilling safari in South India leaves you inspired for the days ahead.

Day 4 : FIRST SAFARIS IN NAGARHOLE NATIONAL PARK

After a restful night at the lodge, we rise early for our first morning game drive into the heart of Nagarhole National Park. As the golden light filters through the forest canopy, the park awakens with the sounds of wildlife. Spotted deer, sambar, langurs, and myriad bird species are often active in the cool morning hours. Following breakfast back at the lodge and some leisure time, we venture out again in the afternoon for our second safari drive, hoping for encounters with elusive predators such as tigers and leopards. Each drive lasts approximately 3.5 hours, offering ample time to immerse ourselves in this biodiverse landscape.

Day 5 : INTO THE WILDERNESS – SAFARIS CONTINUE

Another exhilarating day dawns as we continue our pattern of morning and afternoon safaris. Today, we delve deeper into Nagarhole’s diverse habitats — teak forests, open grasslands, and riverine stretches — seeking sightings of Asian elephants roaming through the wilderness. Birdlife keeps us entertained between larger sightings, with vibrant flashes of Malabar parakeets, Indian rollers, and white-cheeked barbets often lighting up the trees.

Day 6 : SAFARI DRIVES AND KABINI BACKWATERS BOAT TRIP

Today we continue with our regular game drives, but we also have the exciting opportunity to explore the Kabini backwaters by boat. Drifting along the calm waters, we witness a different perspective of the park’s ecosystems. Wildlife often congregates near the banks — crocodiles bask, elephants bathe, and waterbirds such as storks, kingfishers, and fish eagles add to the spectacle. Later, our afternoon safari offers another chance to track elusive predators along the dusty trails.

Day 7 : TRACKING PREDATORS AND GENTLE GIANTS

With the rhythm of the park becoming more familiar, we sharpen our skills at reading the forest signs — alarm calls, fresh pugmarks, and movement among the trees. Today’s game drives again focus on locating Nagarhole’s iconic big cats: tiger and leopard. Along the way, we encounter the mighty gaur (Indian bison), herds of chital, and playful troops of grey langurs. Every moment on safari brings the possibility of a magical encounter.

Day 8 : RICH BIRDLIFE AND SAFARI ENCOUNTERS

Today’s safaris continue to reveal Nagarhole’s astonishing bird diversity alongside its famous mammals. It is common to spot 20–30 bird species in a single drive — from brilliant peafowls strutting through the grasslands to raptors soaring overhead. Between safaris, enjoy the lodge’s tranquil setting or explore the grounds where smaller species like sunbirds and drongos are often seen. Each drive offers a new chapter in our wildlife story.

Day 9 : FINAL SAFARIS IN NAGARHOLE

Today marks our final full day of exploration in this enchanting park. We head out for our last two safaris, making the most of every moment in search of memorable wildlife encounters. Whether tracking a family of elephants moving quietly through the forest or catching a final glimpse of a majestic tiger in the undergrowth, the beauty and biodiversity of Nagarhole continue to captivate until the very end. In the evening, we gather to share highlights and stories from our time in this extraordinary part of India.

Day 10 : FINAL SAFARI AND RETURN TO BENGALURU

We rise early for our final game drive into Nagarhole’s magical forests, making the most of one last opportunity to spot wildlife as the sun filters through the misty trees. Whether it's a final glimpse of a majestic elephant herd, a flash of vibrant birdlife, or the elusive tiger's shadow, this morning’s drive is a fitting farewell to this enchanting wilderness.

After returning to the lodge for a relaxed breakfast, we say goodbye to the tranquil landscapes of the Kabini and begin our drive back to Bengaluru. The journey retraces our route through rural Karnataka, offering time to reflect on the many extraordinary encounters we have enjoyed. Upon arrival in the city, we check into our comfortable hotel for a final night in India, where you can unwind and savour the last evening of your South Indian adventure.

Day 11 : LEISURE DAY IN BENGALURU

After the exhilarating days spent deep within the wilderness of Nagarhole, today is set aside for rest and relaxation in the vibrant city of Bengaluru. Following a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, the day is yours to unwind at your own pace. Enjoy the hotel's excellent facilities, indulge in a spa treatment, or take a stroll through the local neighbourhoods, experiencing a more urban side of South India.

For those who wish, optional excursions can be arranged to explore some of Bengaluru’s cultural and historical highlights — from colourful markets and gardens to museums and grand colonial architecture. After days immersed in the wild, today offers the perfect balance to reflect on your adventure, recharge, and enjoy a different flavour of India before your journey home.

Today marks the conclusion of your unforgettable South Indian wildlife journey. After breakfast at the hotel, we transfer to Bengaluru International Airport for your return flight to the NEW YORK. Drifting silently along the riverbanks, we often spot elephants drinking at the water’s edge, crocodiles basking in the sun, and a dazzling variety of bird species fluttering among the reeds. The calm serenity of the water contrasts beautifully with the dynamic energy of the forest safaris.

Exceptional Birdwatching

For bird enthusiasts, Nagarhole is a paradise where forest, river, and wetland ecosystems merge. A wonderful range of resident and migratory species can be found, including several Western Ghats endemics:

  • Grey-headed fish eagle – patrolling the waterways for prey
  • Malabar parakeet – flashes of blue and green in the canopy
