The idea of the cold winter air brushing past your cheeks while you brave your way across the trekking circuit is in itself very appealing and no wonder tourists throng the Everest Base Camp.
The Everest Base camp is indisputably the best trekking circuit in the world. It is an advanced level trekking camp. Needless to say that the view of the frozen peak of the Everest will leave you dazzled. There are also forests and other forms of natural beauty present and since the camp is present in a conservation area, you will require the trekking to Everest Base Camp training which you will require before you start off on the trekking circuit. Also, to get to the base camp you will need to trek across the Khumbu region. It is a 5 to 7 day trek to the camp from Lukla and you will have to camp at night.
December is one of the best months of the year if you are planning to go trekking to the Everest Base camp, the reason being that the weather of the camp is quite favourable during this month the temperature is not very cold and the days are rather warm and pleasant and also rainfall is unlikely. The nights do get cold but it is not unbearable.
A complete and light trekking kit is an absolute must as these can be life-savers in those mountainous regions. You will not want to forget a sturdy pair of simple and light shoes. Also the rucksack that you are carrying must be light but at the same time it must be large enough to hold all its contents. A sleeping bag is an absolute essential too. You will also need some first aid in case you slip somewhere or your feet get sore. Needless to say, that your hiking boots are the most important part of this kit and you will be in a precarious situation in case you get some cheap quality ones.
Joining a school that will train you in the basics of trekking will be wise as they will prepare you for the adverse conditions and they will also teach you how exactly trekking is done. A training school is highly recommended for those who are new to trekking and who do not trek on regular basis. The training is a short one and will help you know where exactly you stand when it comes to fitness.
If you are a the lone ranger who wants to be left alone you can go trekking alone, then you must be sure that you know the trekking circuit well and must have some good experience of trekking too. The locals are sure to help you with the routes and as the crimes in this area are almost nil, lone trekking is sure not to cause any trouble.
Go trekking the Everest Base Camp this December and enjoy the beautiful sights that will leave you in a state of bliss.
